Wedding FAQ

How did you become an associate photographer?

I (Kayla) was actually one of Kalli’s brides in 2018, then started working with her in 2019 as an assistant & second shooter after finding my passion for photography. We’ve been inseparable ever since & when she invited me to have a more permanent role on her team as an associate, it felt like the natural next step.

Now we are able to serve even more couples for dates when Kalli isn’t available & still give them the same amazing experience by working with me under the Kalli June brand!

Who will I communicate with when planning my wedding?

All communication is typically done through Kalli as we work as a team & she is the planning expert. But don’t worry, Kayla is also available for phone chats, which will happen once or twice during the planning process!

What is the best way to contact you?

Email, for sure. I’m kind of the worst at texting back but since email is strictly for my clients, it allows me to be super speedy & organized when communicating.

When can I expect my images?

Weddings are delivered within 8 weeks. More often than not, I deliver early but also have to account for busier times of the year when turnaround may not be as quick as I would like.

I know how hard it is to wait so I always post a sneak peek as soon as I can, usually within 48 hours. :)

How many images can I expect?

I typically deliver ~50 images/hour of coverage but this can vary quite a bit depending on the day & if you have a second shooter. Let's put it this way, I will never keep a good photo from you.

Can I print my images myself?

Absolutely! Printing rights are included in engagement sessions & wedding collections.

If I want higher quality prints, can I order them through you?

Of course! When your online gallery is delivered, there will be options to order prints & products through me if you’d prefer that over printing them on your own.

What areas do you service?

I am located in Southern Indiana & regularly travel to all surrounding areas including: Jasper, Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Evansville & Bloomington.

How many hours of wedding day coverage do you suggest?

All of my current wedding collections include 8-9 hours of coverage & I consider that the sweet spot. I’ve found that anything less just doesn’t get the job done & leads to last minute decisions to add more. Together, we will plan out your timeline in advance to make sure you’re getting the amount of coverage you need.

What is a "first look" & do you suggest it?

A first look is when the bride & groom see each other, privately, before the ceremony. If you're considering it, I highly suggest having one for a few reasons. 1. You don't have to hide from each other until the ceremony. It's your wedding day, spend it together. ;) 2. It's very rare that you'll find another moment in the day for just the two of you to privately be together. Talk, cry, love on each other! 3. We will have more time for portraits. 4. You can get to your reception faster because most of your portraits will already have been taken before the ceremony. This is even more important during months when the sun sets early.

With that being said, there is no right or wrong way. Absolutely do what feels right to you, it's YOUR day!

I’m having trouble finding wedding vendors, can you offer any recommendations?

I would love to! I want my couples to have the absolute best & I keep a list of vendors that I know provide that. If you need recommendations after booking, just say the word & I’ll send that info right over!

How much do you edit?

Our approach to photography is fun & authentic. I want your photos to reflect you, not some idea of what a "perfect" photo should be. I will pose you in flattering ways & edit out that dreaded zit that popped up the day of your shoot, but anything past that isn’t really my jam.

I’m not sure what to wear to my engagement session. Do you have any tips?

Yes! When you book with me, I provide lots of tips on what to wear & how to prepare for your engagement session. If you’re a visual person, feel free to check out my Pinterest boards for all of the inspiration you need!

What if it rains?

For sessions, my general rule of thumb is that if there is more than a 50% chance of rain for the time of your session, it’s best to reschedule. I will reach out to you 24 hours before your session to get your thoughts & we can make a final decision by the morning of.

On wedding days, we do our best! Unfortunately I have no control over the weather but there are always options! We will utilize clear umbrellas, awnings & indoor spaces to make sure you still get stunning photos!
